During the four-year project that started in the autumn of 2016, Egis accomplishes the research and development of new galenic products – non-solid medicine forms: cream, ointment, gel, suppository, solution, drops – in cooperation with the University of Szeged, Faculty of Science and Informatics, Pannon University, and the Hungarian Science Academy” s Research Center of Natural Sciences. The works supporting the commercialisation of the pharmaceutical products started in the autumn of 2017. At the new plant, finalised by 2019, technologies related to manufacturing galenic products are being used; medicines are equipped with unique box authentication and tithe-safe packaging.
As a result of the cooperation with our consortia partners, new products are being developed which contain known agents enabling certain treatments to be more effective. “This is a unique event in Egis’ life: we can continue our expansion on our export markets with new, globally competitive pharmaceutical products we develop within the framework of the project at the new galenic plant” – highlighted our CEO, István Hodász at the inauguration ceremony.”
